PROJECTS & SERVICES

SCOPE & OUR APPROACH

Our approach is flexible and dictated by customer demands. Project durations range from quick expert opinion (from as little as one hour)  through to full feature developments. Recent projects have included: Expert knowledge relating to ETSI 3GPP, ITU-T, ANSI, EIA/TIA and other standards; Prior art research and analysis; Historical forensic investigation of the ETSI standards; IPR essentiality, validity and uniqueness opinion; View of the “skilled person in the art”; Expert witness (expert reports); IPR related consumer and other product development expertise (systems, software and hardware). Expert opinion relating to patent infringement litigation, ETSI FRAND licensing and prior art research.

Our working relationship with our clients is often under direct contract on an ad-hoc hourly paid basis (zero hours’ contract). This has represented good value for money for our clients, as it has had the benefit of our contracted ongoing support, with no retention fees and no minimum number of hours’ commitment by the client. For prior art search, we have also worked according to agreed fixed blocks of hours, thus ring-fencing the time spent.

We are very flexible and able to respond quickly to client questions and provide reports or answers based on the related standards with a fast turnaround time. Due to our close proximity to London, we are able to attend meetings at short notice with our clients’ lawyers, partners and barristers, often outside of normal working hours, when required.

Client confidentiality is one of our key concerns and we actively ensure that conflicts of interest are avoided before participating in new projects.

We also provide 3rd party consultancy via a number of international service provides, including Thomson Reuters and ORC:
